Criteria for Extended Time on Standardized Tests –
ACT / SAT / PSAT / AP

Officials from testing companies determine student eligibility for extended time on standardized tests.  Although specific requirements vary, both companies (ACT and College Board) require that a student have a recent (last 3-5 years) formal evaluation from a certified professional on file at the school to meet basic guidelines.

Check list for ACT / PLAN – ETT*
• Recent ( 3 years) formal evaluation on file at STM
• Receive and use requested accommodations
• Complete details about ACT policies for documentation of requests for testing accommodations are available at:
www.act.org/aap/disab/policy.html

Check list for PSAT / SAT – ETT*
• Recent (3-5 years) formal evaluation on file at STM
• Have a disability that necessitates testing accommodations.
• Receive and use the requested accommodations, due to the disability, for school-based tests, for at least four months
• For additional information, visit the College Board (SAT / PSAT / AP) web site at
www.collegeboard.com/ssd/

Please note:
• In order to eligible for ETT* on College Board Tests, you are to request from the ASP Director a Student Eligibility Form. The form must be submitted to College Board at least six weeks prior to the test date.  See chart below.
