Foundation
The St. Thomas More Catholic High School Foundation was incorporated on March 1, 1983, with a mission to build a corpus of endowed monies for the long-term support of St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Eleven community leaders composed the first Board of Trustees.
In 1993, the Foundation established the Utopian Circle to seek gifts to the endowment fund. A portion of the interest earned by the fund is returned to the school annually to support such programs as tuition assistance and department needs. Individuals are invited to enroll in the Utopian Circle through an annual gift of $1,000 to the Foundation, or to become lifetime members of the Utopian Circle through a $10,000 donation payable over a one to ten-year period. The Foundation’s Wall of Honor, located at the main entry to the school, features bronze plaques which recognize these generous Lifetime Utopian Circle donors.
In addition to Utopian Circle level gifts, the Foundation receives both restricted and unrestricted gifts of cash and/or stocks. Restricted gifts are generally in the form of donations to a named memorial fund or scholarship. Unrestricted gifts are added to the corpus of the Foundation’s endowment fund. The Foundation also receives bequests as named in trusts or wills.
