STM Cougar Band
About the Band
The St. Thomas More Catholic High School Cougar Band is comprised of over 65 members ranging from woodwinds to brass and percussion to auxiliary. This group of artistically enriched young people have proven their worth as a worthy organization in today’s Music Education World.
Under the leadership of band director Mr. Mark Duhé, the STM Cougar Band began its preparation for the upcoming school year. The marching band has completed two and a half weeks of band camp and will be rehearsing on our band practice field every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5 p.m. All are invited to show their support of the Cougar Band.
Toys for Tots Christmas Concert
The STM Cougar Band held a Christmas concert with admission donations going to Toys for Tots. This year's concert brought in the largest audience to date.
The Cougars performed classics such as Tidings of Comfort and Joy featuring Joseph Zeik on trumpet and Coco Hebert on flute and Sleigh Ride with special guest conductor STM freshmen, Jake Mouton. Original pieces included Clarinet Night composed by Mark Duhe', and We 3 Trombone Kings composed by freshmen, Joseph Riedl.

National Honors
Senior Evan Hennigan has been selected to perform in the Honors Band for the 2013 American High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Similar to his selection into the Louisiana All-State Honor Band, this is a decision on a national level. He was chosen by his exemplary skills as a euphonium performer and will get to work under renowned conductor Robert Reynolds.
